Monster
Well, after seeing Charlize Theron live at the Tonight Show, my high school buddy Yaboo and I decided to see her new movie, Monster.
It is complex.
It will make you think.
It will polarize.
Part of me loves it and part of me hates it.
Too much sympathy is paid to Aileen Carol Wuornos, with artificial inferences/constructs to explain a killer's creation. There are moments where the character is portrayed as it deserves; as a monster. But the soft moments are overpowering.
Charlize did a rather good job of transforming herself. About 95% of the time, I don't see an actress—I see a highway prostitute and killer.
Recommended for those that are inclined to explore themes, and think for themselves.
