Install Windows 7 without the product key.
After installation has completed, start regedit.exe and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Setup/OOBE/
Change MediaBootInstall from "1" to "0"
Quit regedit.exe and start the command line utility with administrator rights (enter cmd into search, and right-click it — choosing Run As Administrator).
In the command line window, type: slmgr /rearm
Wait for the Command Completed Successfully notification.
Reboot.
Run the Activate Windows utility.
Enter your product key.
Cross your fingers for a successful activation confirmation message.
